control retrofit of a carrier 30gx251-y-61255
I have this chiller with a psio control system which has been nothing but trouble and expensive to replace components. Does anyone know of a generic retrofit for this control system, for this chiller? daveotech

What kind of trouble are you having? What parts are you changing?

It takes three people to do anything around here. Two do the work, one explains to the crowd of people who showed up when they seen smoke and flames.

Nuisance alarms, replaced the psio1 module twice in the last three or four years at $5000.00 contractors cost. And now the screen is locked and reads "carrier comfort network" and the machine is locked out and won't run. Not sure what this problem is now.
Thanks for your interest

Sounds like you need a service agreement with Carrier they will reload that thing for peanuts then.I take care of quite a few PIC chillers and rarely have any problems.

Ditto. Do to the complex sequence of operations and mointoring you are pretty much stuck with what you have. Are the batteries being changed in the psio modules regularly? dead battery = lost program. We have quite a few machines with little or no problems with controls.

There is no official conversion that I know of but the right person can do their homework and convert it to comfortlink controls. But there has not been a need to do so.

Just curious as to what nuisance alarms you had and the reasons for replacing PSIO. Were they all due to the loss of memory (software program). or something else
Just a reminder when changing batteries power must remain on to PSIO otherwise you will lose the memory.
Who downloaded the software to the PSIO
