People are getting smarter by the day. Scams here and there, you can never be too trusting.

A former boss of mine was also scammed by a company who altered his telephone recording. And this was a legitimate business too (so we thought). Basically the only way to stay completely safe is to hang up the phone if something doesn't seem right. It's sad that's this is the world we live in...

I got an email the other day asking for the same, 3 mini-splits with no accessories and they wanted to pay with a credit card. I immediately remembered this thread and told them c.o.d for the units and I never heard back!

"Directed at HVAC business's."
There is no "s" after the apostrophe, in "Directed at HVAC business'."
You're welcome.

Scammer.... at it again [sic]
I received a strangely written quote request and decided to goggle it... seems that scammers repeat their scams; too much work I guess to come up with freshly written scams.
I was able to match to someone who posted the same scam back in '06 ... I think; anyways.
This time it's an email from..... (wait for it) "Larry Bones" - Email Address Removed
Larry Bones ??? really, is that the best fake name you can come up with?
ok the email below:
Good day,
My name is Mr.Larry Bones and I will like to know if you can supply some air conditoners for me, its going to be picked up at your store location when parked for pick up, after payment.I will like to know if you have instock,
Comments: I need a split air condition unit
Below are the specifications required;
a.. Ductless Mini Split Wall Mounted Unit [Cooling only]
a.. Capacity 18,000BTU [1.5 ton]
a.. 230V
a.. Quantity required 3pcs [3 indoor and 3 outdoor units]
a.. My favorite brands are Mitsubishi,Sanyo,Carrier or any durable brand.
and also let me know if you do accept credit card as a method of payment also, wish you all the best in business and i would be looking forward on hearing from you soon.
best regards,
Larry.
Here's tip of the day for Larry....
next time provide your business name, address, business email, phone number & fax ..... oooohhh right , that would be bad for you.
Next ... don't say "Good Day" - seems like an international red-flag
Next ... don't say "Mr" when identifying yourself - you "thinks" too much of yourself
Also, remember, If you were scammed as a child - you can grow up and break-that-chain.... because Nobody likes a scammer.
