Tried to bring my own pop corn to the movies!

Went to the movies with my family today and thought I would save some money by bringing my own snacks. So I asked one of the guys that works there if I could use his microwave to make my own pop corn lol. It didn't work out like I planed. So I threw my comb in the mens toilet bowl lol. just kidding but I thought about it. Tried

My wife and I snuck in burritos once. We really felt as if we were getting away with the perfect crime too.

Just never try and sneak in hot coffee like Cosmo Kramer did.

I don't mind the high prices for the food at the movies. Movie theaters only charge cost for the movie, no markup, no profit. The movie is just to get you in the door so they can sell food.

Movie theaters are in the food business, not the movie business.

Our local movie theater now has a take-out window.
My wife thinks it's just great.
When she takes the dog for a walk, she can buy hot popcorn on her way by the theater for a snack when she gets home.

Yeah...kind of hard to swallow that the flicks are a loss leader...

Years ago when I was a kid, my dad had an account with the local theatre. One day, he and the manager were talking, and he told my dad that their local theatre's source of income was the snacks, not the movies. When you hear about the gross income from movie releases over the entire US, and from the world, yes, Hollywood is making more money than the government. But when you zero down to one particular theatre, they don't make much net profit off ticket sales, just the snacks.

Just got a call from the movie theater. A backed up toilet in mens room looks like the comb worked!

The last house I bought, I bought from a movie theater chain owner. In one of our lengthy discussions he told me the same thing, that the cost of the movie ticket pays for the movie and overhead and that the only profit made in movies is the concessions.
