Besides HVACR what else? I tell my family who all live in the south to get into the pool service or irrigation business. States farther north I would say Well pumps, Water condition even drain cleaning or what about appliance repairs that would be fun lol.
water bills soon to double (mandatory upgrades by the gov) i see water reclamation as a up and coming industry..collecting rain water and or filtering gray water to re use, not as potable. something new to the mid west where water is plentiful
I read something about that, reusing water from the showers and the faucets and it runs into a filtration system and pumped into the toilet tanks. Seems like a lot of work for toilet water. I would just get a empty drum and put it under my gutter.lol
lol..as i was reading i though u where going to say u where going to use the empty drum as your latrine...lol. I know of several people who have a drum collecting gutter runoff to water there gardens.
A seasonal one but a biggie in Texas I'm seeing more and more is Mosquito

Local radio talk show had the members of the Manitoba trades apprentence advisory board on a few weeks ago and they said that any skilled trade in Canada is going to be in short demand in the next 10 years or so due to retirement. I would guess that the US will be in the same boat.
One of the non traditional people going into the trades that they interviewed was a former Miss Manitoba Beauty Queen that just completed her apprentence program and is now a certified Canadian Red Seal welder.
Sort of like Flashdance in real life I guess.
Both Twilly3967 and Hvacjoek are correct in from what I was told years ago by my grandfathers about hookers and undertakers being the only professions that did not go broke in the last "great depression". Some things are always in demand.
