Aaon coil leaks

Has anybody else had a problem with condenser coil leaks on these Aaon units? I have an account with 3 and 2 have leaks, sad part is they are 3 years old. They are at the tube sheet, man what a pain in the rear, they appear to be cracks.

We had 2 this summer. Both were 2 years old and at the sheet.

Also had 2 of them this year---both units under 10 tons---both leaks at the tube sheet---No warranty on one because Aaon starts their warranty on the ship date. Unit installed 10 months prior, but unit shipped 8 months prior to that ......Aaon.......

can't say I had any leaks but the problem I have been having for the past 2 years on equipment only 1-2 years old ranging in sizes 7 ton to 50 ton is RUBBING WIRES!! For what you spend on these things the least they could do is provide some slack on the wire harnesses......Do you know how long it takes to find a short in the control wires on a 50 ton unit fully loaded with all the bells and whistles?? Oh while in the freezing rain? I don't understand how it leaves the factory with the wires so tight.

Recently did start up on 70 ton Aaon that had bad pipe (> 10 pin holes in 1 foot length of pipe). All of the service fitting caps were loose or missing. Garbage!

Started 4 30 Ton units this summer, two had came from the factory with leaks in the coils. Both tube sheet one evaporator and one condenser, real pain in the butt to find very windy which made it near impossible. They were not very big leaks still equally hard to find, to fix was also difficult I am sure but I didn't get the chance. Another outfit made the repairs after I did all the hard work oh well.

I have 4units with leaks at tube sheet. All 3 to 4 years old. They suck A$$.

AAON has terrible quality control.Over the years I've seen many brand new units show up with no gas in them. But all the inspection tags are filled out as passing.One of the best ones was none of the tubes at the distributer were brazed at the factory,but is passed the quality control run test.

So what is so great about AAON? Apples for apples what manufacture would you recommend?

Was that question for me? If so you apparantly misunderstood my post. I was only refering to AAON crap.I myself prefer trane or Carrier,

I repaired a leak this past summer on an 4 year old 10-ton AAON unit. Leak was from a hairline crack on a 3/8" tubing line for HGB. Seems the quality of copper tubing is not up to par on these units.

how are you fixing these things at the sheet? has anyone done a coil replacement?

I cut away some metal and got to a few, but the more I fix the more I get.

ive done 3 coil replacements this year plus this coming friday i'm replacing one. when i just went too the factory i asked them about the coils they said it was due to sag issues but it's been corrected which i doubt.
