    Shim this motor

    And the customer wants to know why the motor keeps chewing up love joy couplings. Yeah thats right, wrong motor on base, crappy shim job, out by 40 thousandths!!

    if it's out by that much...........how long between coupling replacements?

    I'd think there would be a whole lotta shakin' goin on

    motor 30-50hp????????????

    You could feel the vibration on the floor below the motor, it was a dull loud thudding almost rumbling it didn't sound good thats for sure, the motor had the coupling replaced 2 days before it started to really make noise and they shut it down so I'm told. This is the fifth or sixth I have changed for this mgmt company we are taking over from the previous company who went out and are finding out they did not know how to shim motors, it looks like they just eyeballed things.
