Portable plasma cutter makes fast and quiet work out of that.

Ok so here's the back story I replaced both of the blowers bearings shaft ect I did not cut that hole in the cage this unit has a 7/5 hp motor that spins the blower so fast the wheel explodes every 12 months! Nice right....Well it was easy acc. lol.
When I replaced the wheel shaft ect we installed a freq drive on duct press. So it won't do that anymore and what a supppprise we can now actually remove humidity.... I don't know why someone installed such a monster of a motor on this unit when all that was wrong was a few dozen bad vav boxes that were stuck half closed!
and those blower wheels are in the right way!
Ps- Closed them up with perma gum cord. -Works great

I had one of those once and I did the same thing. There was absolutely no other way to repair it. That was 10 years ago, and the unit is still running to this day with no problem. Sometimes you gotta do what ya gotta do to get things fixed, even if it looks like crap.

Personally I would have changed out the entire blower.
