do i see the disconnect is still on? If they want that unit re weird they better turn that off.
Not much damage done to the store other than some minor smoke and water. I have no inside info yet of what caused the fire other than the smoke got let out of something in the RTU.
Looks to me like it started in the controls cabinet, maybe a faulty controller or a loose wire?
FWIW it's a York unit, not sure what model though.

You coulda buffed that right out.
Who was the last one to wrench on it?
That looks like the High Limit did not work when the blower stopped working, I have seen this before and that's what had done it, only someone wired out the limit so it didn't work.

This building was completed this spring I believe, possibly late last winter. I'm sure it's had some run time on it in the heating mode, but not too much, so this cold snap we had was likely one of the 1st.
The company that installed it does good work and their service guys are pretty dang good too, so I doubt it was anything fouled up by a poor tech. Perhaps it was just one of those things.
Kinda makes you realize how important our job can be though.

Found out about the high limit for york tech service after unit fired up the bad thing was it was at a dunbar armored car sight with no windows talk about a customer having a fit then we proceeded to convince them that they needed to replace the unit
you got there first with what i was gonna say , the last time i saw anything like that was when an electrical contractor ran like a 200 amp service to a 15 t rooftop with full sized fuses in it and it just burned so bad the brass contacts in the contactors melted an hardened like little raindrops inside the cabinet......Jack
