Controls Support Technician
q Provide installation, engineering, and commissioning support to our Controls Dealers
q Commission BACnet, Modbus, & Lon Cards
q Technician training and certification for our contractor base
q Pre-sale application/engineering assistance and post-sale technical support
q Build control panels to specification
q Work with direct supervisor as needed, to support the above controls network
q Provide Backup for Controls Manager whenever necessary
q Responsible for coverage of Duty Phone
q Report to the Controls Manager and Technical Support Manager
A qualified candidate for this position is a self motivated and a well organized individual. They must work well in a team and be willing to go the extra mile for our customers. They will be required to have a cell phone with adequate minute policy and a working vehicle that can sustain approx. 2000 miles/month. They must be willing to drive within our territory which includes the greater Chicago-Land area as well as Kankakee, Rockford, The entire northern 1/3 of Indiana, and South-Western tip of Michigan. They must be willing to travel (travel expenses will be reimbursed). They must have strong computer skills and be knowledgeable in using Microsoft Office. They must have been trained for basic HVAC servicing skills, the use of a meter, OHM’s Law, and have very strong math skills. Analog controls experience is a must. Digital controls experience is a plus. They must have two years of field HVAC servicing experience. Electrical field experience is a plus.

Sounds good up until the vehicle and cell phone part... unless you are reimbursing those expenses.
Monthly allowances are usually granted for these items.
"Usually granted" and "are granted" are completely different animals.
You go to great lengths to specifically point out that having a working cell phone with unlimited minutes and a vehicle that the candiate can expect to put 2000 miles a month on for your benefit... yet no mention is made regarding any type of allowance or reimbursement... except for "travel expenses"... which reads as "out of state".
It is all based on a candidates experiance and salary demands. These have not been set in stone as of yet. If you believe that you may fit the position, send in your resume and if you are offered a position, we will discuss these two items.
