Every day unless I'm out of town, only have a couple comercial customers that call due to being open 24/7, residential only when its hot or cold. Get 80 dollars regardless of a call or not then whatever time is on the call as well. Use to be no pay for the first 3 years but I went a little crazy after taking a whole bunch of calls during the week and not one person gave me a hand when I called needing more help.

We just lost a tech for our area, so now we're back to port and starboard. Now I'm either on call or on backup for my area which is the West coast of Florida and if anything chiller related comes in for the other areas that the on call tech can't handle, it's the whole peninsula part of the state. Luckily we don't get too many calls though. We get $75 for on call and $50 for backup, one week on at a time and it runs Monday to Monday.

Wow... nice responses... I guess it seems about average for me then. We get 1hr pay for being on call for the week. Then we get reg pay or OT if over 40 for the week. WHen I first worked for this company... we didnt get squat. I get paid from home to the call.... and the call.... and thats it. I dont get travel back unless its at the north end of the beach or in 4x4 country ... then I get 15 minutes back on the paved road.It can take 45 min from there to get home

We have 6 guys on the rotation.
A/C season, week at a time.
Heating season, one day at a time, every 6 days. Plus someone is backup Saturday and Sunday. Plus someone does Clean and checks Saturdays. The end result, it seems like i'm always working. No Sunday hunting in PA, and we have a 50% chance of working Saturdays, so I'm mad all Fall.

No on call required. Not required to carry company cell phone after hours. But if I do answer phone and have to out 4 hours minimum. And telephone time is time I get paid for also.

We have 3 techs for the area I work so I'm on 2 out of 3 weeks, 1 backup and 1 on call. Haven't been getting any after hours most of the year in my immediate area, I have to go to the other techs immediate areas if I go out at all, I'm doing my job too good.
We don't get anything extra for being on call or backup, door to door only after hours, during the regular day we have to take off 1/2 hour each way each day morning and evening.
Week runs Wed. to Tues with OT only after 40.
