Best of luck, I tried for ages and came to the conclusion that the only way to get it is to 'obtain' some photos of a Trane employee in a compromising situation - then blackmail a copy out of them!

If the local Trane office will not sell Rover to you then look for an independent Trane equipment distributor. Rover is not a 'restricted' product as far as the mother company is concerned. The local offices have the right to restrict the sale and generally do.

We were able to buy it recently from our local Trane parts supply. It took about an hour of the run around on the phone before we got to the right guy....

The part number is SFT1002 if I remember correctly. Try Trane parts with that part number.

Been trying to get my hands on a setup for Rover for 2 months now

Part number is X13651500-01 for the whole kit with connectors for comm4 and comm5.

If anyone can get me a version 7 setup I would be more than happy to pay(this is for me, not my company, since I left my other job in March I pulled some 401K money to buy all the software and connectors on all the systems I need to work on).

Hey Ds, no not that, Trane won't sell to my employer either. Hopefully I didn't misconstrew(is this even a word?) anything. Even though my current and last employer buy tools and everything for you to work with I started buying all my own tools, etc. 5 years ago, then I realized how much time and effort goes into collecting and finding software and realized I wanted to make sure I had a copy of everything I needed myself.

I was able to purchase both Rover Comm 4 and Comm 5 version 7 through our local Trane office a couple years ago. These sales had to go through the BAS department, not the parts department due to their internal procedures. It was fairly easy to do however we purchase a significant amount of parts and equipment from them. I haven't had to purchase since so I'm unsure if they have tightened up with their policies.
