    Confused Change contractor, keep manufacturer's warranties?

    If I need to change contractors, can the manufacturer's parts and labor warranties be 'transferred' to the new contractor?

    We have a Goodman split heat pump GSH130421AA and a Goodman gas furnace. Installed three years ago. We have the written, 10 year parts/labor warranty papers from Goodman. The compressor parts are warranted for much longer.

    Can any licensed contractor 'take over' or does he have to be a Goodman authorized/certified contractor or dealer?

    Tha manufacurer's (parts) warranty is not dependent on staying with one dealer, however, the labor warranties may be, especially if they are a 3rd party (Equigard, Warrantech, etc)
