York combustion chamber problem
Hello,
I am a new home owner and new at HVAC. I am planning to have my furnace serviced, but have a few questions as to what might be wrong with my furnace.
York model# P2MPD14N08001B
The cool season is approaching here in New England and I was inspecting my furnace.
As I shined my light past the burners (inshot style) into the tubes where the gas burns. I noticed decayed/melted metal fragmants partially plugging the tubes. It looks to me as if there was thin metal baffles of some sort originally and they have disintegrated over the years. Any Ideas? Thanks

Beenthere,
Thanks for the reply. Is it normal to have them break apart and rot? Is it a safety concern without them? Thanks

Its normal.
As far as I know. The only state that requires them is CA.
Its an emissions device.
Your HVAC guy can remove them.
