Just the fact that you have experienced so many hardships and are still standing speaks volumes about your strength and courage. You are still here on this earth and, whether you know it or not, are providing folks around you with valuable life lessons. Would love to see you come and join in the thread that has already been posted. Bittan keep your head held high and will say a prayer for you.

Wink Only the strong will survive!

Bittan you R 1 strong man. These days life has been tough on alot of famillies but here in North America we have had it very good for a long time and guys tend to take lots for granted. I think God or life throws curve balls at us sometimes to keep us strong and only the strong will survive in tough times. Good Luck and I know you will get through it.

    Bittan,
Thanks for letting us in on your situation. I can't imagine where you are but I truly hope you have found faith. I know that is the ONLY thing that keeps me going when it gets really bad.

And I once again have to reduce my severity level of "Bad" in respect to your situation.

No one has ever said they wished they had spent more time at work when faced with a life threatening event.

Love on your family and trust God, that is the only wisdom I have for you.

God bless, I will keep you and your family in my prayers, daily !

    Red face

Thanks again for all your replies. I'm not sure what the future will bring but will continue to keep up on the latest in HVAC. I still like it. It's nice when other techs (especially the newer ones) call me on my cell phone to help troubleshoot or simply ask my opinion. They know I have nothing to gain and am calm with them. I'm sure if a family member or close friend calls I'd go out to take a look, give a second opinion or let them know if a contractors's price is fair. Funny thing, I have 15 years of tools, meters, gages, etc neatly stacked and organized on shelves in my basement----WHAT to do? When and which ones do I sell? They are like a part of me, both funtional and sentimental. My silly mind doesn't want to "let go". Even though I have no use for 90% of them. I kind of like looking at them as they remind me of the work I did.
    meanwhile, back at the ranch.....

That's funny! I have a lot of stuff I never use that I won't let go of, too.

And I know what you mean about some having sentimental value. Wheen my tuck and almost 16k of MY tools were stolen back in May, I felt personally violated.

Make the most of today, ok?

It's amazing how much of your story involves remembering the financial worries you went through while dealing with this. It's precisely cases like these when someone simply should not worry about money, let alone face losing their one and only home.

Disability insurance did what it's supposed to do, but the health industry robbed you. Where would you be without disability payments? Probably not typing here. Where would you be with universal healthcare? At least still in the home you've lived in.

I'm sorry, but its not the bible or prayer that helps people in these cases, it's other people. It's people that can make things much worse, or much better. Spread your experience. Tell how it really happens and what it feels like. You can still do much good for further improvement of our society, even if you can't lift heavy things anymore.
