I have done some research and reading on that particular sport.

I am an open water diver.

At one point in time, early on, I was considering an overhead environment dive. There was an abandoned coal mine near my house that I wanted to check out beyond the limits of air.

After the research and application of some common sense, I thought better of it.

Every now and again, I hear the pull and think about at least taking a cavern course to see what it's all about.

Hard to penetrate wrecks without the coarse.
Can be done at your own risk.
With the training comes confidence. Worst thing that can happen in coarse is you find out you do not like it. The instructor is there to keep you safe durring training.

Now that my boys are getting a little older, I am thinking about pulling my gear back out of mothballs and seeing if I remember how to swim.

This thread might just be what I need.

The oldest boy is already interested in snorkeling and will catch the diving bug once he sees me do it.

Twilli has dove many springs in FL. Twilli advanced open water PADI, Twilli gav consideration to becoming NACD.

Twilli dove the devil's eye and "ginnie springs" Twilli dove the grotto Twilli dove troy springs and Twilli dove the jug at ittatuknee (sp). Twilli made many dives and did case studies on divers that died in FL springs in 1970's

And it's good to see Twilli made out as well.
People still die, biggest reason is panic. Good lesson for life (DO NOT PANIC)

Good find, stay away from the sturgeons! I have a buddy who did that for years, in north fl. Went to all the shows and now is pulling up dead head wood and milling that.

I was not cave diving in the pic. I have several sets for different dive types. I was getting wet with a couple of Open Water divers.
