Again you miss the point, we cannot attend movies which we do, and we cannot purchase and/or request other channels be removed from our cable/satellite programming.

ABC, NBC, CBS & WB are broadcast across the public airways and therefore have restraints that are not and should not be placed upon paid TV or other programming.

I am still missing the point.

-we can not attend movies which we do- not sure what you are saying there.

-broadcast across the public airways and therefore have restraints that are not and should not be placed upon paid TV- also not sure.

I understand completely, but a doctor's prescription took care of that problem.

Simple enough if we (people with morals) wish to exercise the right to boycott a movie or paid channel we have that right, we my family and I as well as millions of others do this every day.[/COLOR]

Network stations (ABC NBC CBS and CW) are broadcast across the public airways and they are licensed by the FCC to do so. therefore they have restraints placed upon the content they can transmit. Unfortunately those restraints have been severely eroded over the last few decades. These restraints are not and should not be placed on paid venues where we can restrict their proliferation by voicing our concern and not paying for their service. We do not have this option with Network TV at least to the same degree that we do with paid programming.

    That bucket doesn't hold water

Instead of complaining to the networks or the FCC

Ever hear the old saying.....Follow the Money

If you don't like what you see on television, you write en masse
to the networks advertisers simply stating I will not buy your products\nor will i see your commmericials as i will not be watching the show which you advertise on

If you can generate enough vitriole among the folks who support your cause
you may be able to change whatever you want to change

Personally I think you are tilting at windmills

ABC Takes a Bow for Gay-Affirming Television Programming

    Well just check this out.

"NY Times, Oprah also honored for glamorizing homosexuality.
For the second straight year, ABC received the most nominations for gay-affirming TV programming. The network landed nine nominations from the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), while CBS garnered three nods, NBC two and Fox two, The Associated Press reported.
ABC's nominated shows include Brothers & Sisters, Ugly Betty and Desperate Housewives.
Oprah Winfrey and Tyra Banks dominated the Outstanding Talk Show Episode category. For Newspaper Overall Coverage, nominees were: The Boston Globe, Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, The Seattle Times and the San Francisco Chronicle."

Isn't that just sweet now we know who in the media are getting the awards for the most pro gay programs. I guess we know what to think about there advertisers. Glad to be of help here in this "gay outing thread". Thank you very much.

I do and have for years, I was part of the campaign that got Bill Maher kicked off of ABC. You will also notice the show Singles never made it on air a few years back. It works sometimes just not often enough. The left tries it also, they tried on Glenn Beck and it backfired on them his popularity went up and most of the advertiser’s craw fished and came up with excuses why they pulled their advertising.

I have basic cable in my house. We stopped paying for the premium stuff when The Sopranos went away. That still leaves us something like 60+ channels to choose from.

We choose. We decide what we want to watch. My wife likes almost anything on Food Network. When I come home it changes to CNN, Fox, Syfy, or whatever that network is that shows NCIS. The kids like the Disney channel. On Supernatural night we hit the CW.

The point is, we have and use our ability to choose and change the channel as needed. I don't really care what they're showing on Gay TV because I'm not tied to a chair and forced to watch it.

Some say they don't want to be bombarded with the Gay Agenda. I don't either, so I change the channel. Not unlike internet porn... if you don't want to see it, don't go looking for it.
The views and opinions posted here are my own. They do not reflect the corporate policies of my employer and will most likely get me fired at some point.

Homophobes will always be homophobes, doesn't matter if it is shown on TV, radio, or in public. There are a lot of things I dislike but really I just try to focus on what I like and put my attention towards that.

Those who waste their time with such nonsense really have a poor outlook on life and can't see the glass as being half full.

What a load of crap, I do not care what you do in private screw up your life if you want.

Think about this Seaton you have a 7 year old daughter I believe, do you really want her watching two women making out on TV or wallowing around in bed together. I doubt it, how will you feel when she comes home with her girlfriend and says well gee dad I saw it on Melrose place. How about when she comes home pregnant at 12 or 15 because hey dad it is all right people on TV have sex all of the time.

How would you feel if your wife said honey I do not want to try and make our marriage work I think I am going to do what the women on TV are doing and try it with a woman?

The fact that my daughter was born the way she is, I know that TV will not influence her sexual preference!!

And as far as being influenced, we all see sex, violence, and criminal acts everywhere. She is smart enough to make her own decisions because that is the way she is being taught. Like I said, to waste your time worrying about what they show on TV is ridiculous. Gay sex, murder, violence....big deal!!! She will turn out fine because of good parenting. That includes limiting how much she is exposed to certain things. She already understands that some men are with men, and some women are with women.....we are raising her to accept all types of people because everyone is different.
