ABC's homosexual agenda
I received this in an e-mail and it has been verified by snopes for whatever that is worth. I know it is true because I have sent similar letters to NBC and ABC in the past and had similar responses. Not all responses have been this bitter but all have been in the same vein.
A Coach In Childress , Texas
Jim Neugent
Writes To ABC Network
Jim Writes:
My name is Jim Neugent. I wrote to ABC (on-line) concerning a program called 'THE PRACTICE.' In last nights episode, one of the lawyer's mothers decided she is gay and wanted her son to go to court and help her get a marriage license so she could marry her 'partner.' I sent the following letter to ABC yesterday and really did not expect a reply, but I did get one.
My original message was:
ABC is obsessed with the subject of homosexuality. I will no longer watch any of your attempts to convince the world that homosexuality is OK. ' THE PRACTICE' can be a fairly good show, but last night's program was so typical of your agenda. You picked the 'dufus' of the office to be the one who was against the idea of his mother being gay, and made him look like a whiner because he had convictions. This type of mentality calls people like me a 'gay basher.'
Read the first chapter of Romans ( that's in the Bible); and see what the apostle Paul had to say about it..... He, God and Jesus were all 'gay bashers'. What if she'd fallen in love with her cocker spaniel? Is that an alternative life style? (By the way, the Bible speaks against that, too.)
--Jim Neugent
Here is ABC's reply from the ABC on-line webmaster:
How about getting your nose out of the Bible (which is ONLY a book of stories compiled by MANY different writers hundreds of years ago) and read the declaration of independence (what our nation is built on), where it says 'All Men are Created equal,' and try treating them that way for a change!
Or better yet, try thinking for yourself and stop using an archaic book of stories as your lame crutch for your ex istence. You are in the minority in this country, and your boycott will not affect us at ABC or our freedom of statement.
Jim Neugent's second response to ABC:
Thanks for your reply. From your harsh reply, evidently I hit a nerve. I will share it with all with whom I come in contact. Hopefully, the Arkansas Democrat Newspaper will include it in one of their columns and I will be praying for you.

Note: Wouldn't Satan just love it if people stopped using the Bible for a crutch?
Please resend this to everyone in your mailbox.

I wonder if the p erson from ABC considered how many people would eventually read this e-mail!
Please, if you are a Christian, pass this on to others so they may be aware.
WE NEED TO SAVE WHAT WE HAVE LEFT OF THIS COUNTRY!

Now that I think about it, I realize there's not one single show I watch on that network.
The views and opinions posted here are my own. They do not reflect the corporate policies of my employer and will most likely get me fired at some point.

From Urban Legend
Synopsis Jim Neugent complained to ABC about the pro-gay themes of its television series 'The Practice' and received a rude antireligious rant in reply.
See the email here.
Is it true? Yes, but it's not quite the whole story.
Why? Yes, there really is a Jim Neugent. And, yes, he really did send the email complaint to ABC and received the rude reply from an ABC employee. But the story didn't end there.
What the email does not mention is that the ABC employee who originally replied was not authorized to do so and was fired as a result of the rant. The email doesn't mention that Mr. Neugent received two polite apologies from ABC for the incident.
When? 1999
Comments Whether or not one enjoys ABC's programming, it's hard to see how the response of an unauthorized ABC employee with no responsibility for programming content is proof of a particular agenda at ABC, particularly when ABC acted quickly to apologize and discipline the employee.
One brief note: some versions of the email describe Mr. Neugent as living in Childress, Texas. Mr. Neugent was living in Mena, Arkansas when he corresponded with ABC.

There is a vast difference between movies and programs about past historical periods and events slanted or not. Besides not all programs or movies were about war or Indians there was no agenda except during the war.
The difference is almost every program on network TV, movies and cable pushes a gay agenda which to the majority of people in this country is an aberrant lifestyle. We do not want our children or grand children to a lifestyle that is against our beliefs, this goes for any overt sexuality it is not necessary for a program to be entertaining.
A woman that has been on a soap for 19 years was fired because it was against her beliefs to portray a homosexual woman that is wrong. There is a new movie out that has lesbian vampires; please.
The point is the quality of the writers and actor today is sub standard at least compared to the past and they need nudity, sexuality and shock to gain rating instead of taking the time and having the ability create intelligent programming. It is also an agenda to indoctrinate today’s children with their perverted ideals and subvert the beliefs of the majority in this country.

I do not wish to see either depicted on screen in front of my children, wife or grand children. If I or anyone else wishes to watch porn of any stripe it is available just do not shove it in my face.
What you liberals fail to recognize is my right to not have this crap thrust upon me or mine.

I do not watch CBN, or any religious programming, my beliefs and my religions as well as my sexual activities are mine and not to be displayed or forced upon others.
Do what you believe what you want just keep it in private and do not foist it upon me.
See that is what the left does not understand we do not care what you do in private that is your business and you will suffer the consequences of your actions.

And you have the right to complain, no one is suggesting otherwise
You also have the right to change the channel or turn the Idiot box off
Organize the hell out of your friends who think the same as you do to boycott the advertisers
Then write the advertisers and tell them you aren't going to support them
if they support shows of this ilk.
But what you originally posted wasn't the entire truth from 1999
ten years ago when this actually happened
