ebook on how to post ads on Craiglist

I am not sure how many of you are using Craigslist to advertise but if you do it right you should get a pretty good amount of traffic. I am attaching an ebook that goes over the basics of how to get started with Craigslist for anyone that might be interested.

Yea, I'll have to pass on Craigslist type clients.
    Did you author this book?

Wow what a wonderful greeting to the boards. I apologize if I offended you by trying to offer something helpful. You are more than welcome to not take the ebook, it's no skin off my back.

Well, if it walks like spam, looks like spam, reads like spam. You know the rest, I'm sure. I'm just not getting that warm fuzzy feeling for some reason.

Guys, how in the world is this spam?!?!? Do spammers write back? I am legitimately trying to contribute to this board and online marketing is my strong suit so I thought I would start my posting career on this board by giving something that I "thought" some people might find useful.

I am trying to be as polite as I can but man so far the welcoming I have received is not to impressive.

And we're the polite ones. Wait a few minutes, some of the crude folks are still at work.

We have a section called Business & Marketing.
I really don't see many contractors here, using Craigslist to enhance their business. But, ya never know.

Oh man than I am in trouble

I am aware of the Business & Marketing section but unfortunately since I am brand new I don't have the minimum post count of 30 to apply for access to that part of the forum.

I understand what you are saying about Craigslist not being a viable option of marketing, to which I apologize, I just made an assumption.

I guess I should just stick to replying to football threads, there much safer apparently.

There's a little bit more to it, than just having enough posts.

Oh that's good to know. I really do want to be a positive influence in this forum so I guess will just do my best and hope I pass the background investigation. As long as they don't dig up my stint in San Quentin I should be ok

Craigslist is usually associated with hacks, and unlicensed handyman types. I don't know if it is the place for a reputable company or individual to do business. If you run with dogs you wake up with fleas.

Generally, the people who post things like this with less than five posts are "short duration" members. I'm not offended, but I have to laugh when someone mentions Craigslist. If there is one place I want to stay away from, that's it.

Yeah, I'll put an HVAC ad next to "exotic adult services."

    No, thank you, no.

Hey rubberduck - no I am not associated with anything and I didn't write that ebook. I think it was a case of poor judgment on my part as to what to throw out to everyone. I didn't know Craigslist was basically the dregs of the earth in this industry. I could have attached a billion different ebooks or articles trying to help and I obviously picked the worst possible one

One good thing about starting this thread, it was a good conversation starter so I could meet everyone

An ebook on how to unhook a bra with one hand in under 3 seconds would have got a much warmer response

Funny you should say that. Back when I was on the interviewing circuit, I interviewed with a local company whose main work was roofing and sheetmetal, but they had started up an HVAC division a few years back after the hurricanes wreaked havok on the area and now were looking for a chiller mechanic and hoping to break into chiller service. Now this happens to be the most prominent company of it's type in the SW Florida area.

Anyway a few weeks later a friend called me that he had seen an ad on craigslist for a chiller mechanic. Sure enough, I checked and it was listed there with no company mentioned. I emailed the ad requesting more info and the new service manager called me (he hadn't started yet when I interviewed, but I was told he was coming onboard soon) and wanted to set up an interview. I told him I had to decline after he told me the starting pay would be quite a bit less than what they had previously offered me in the interview.
