Kinda need to know the low sat temp and what the high temp was plus a bunch of other things. Did it go off in alarm?
We installed a 30HX and when the Carrier tech was doing the start up the tower fan had tripped a breaker. The tower water was up to 90+ deg entering. The evap sat temp was low with hogh head and came back up when we got the fan running. The tech said he didnt understand it but he heard that the 30 Hx would do that. Can anyone explain the odd situation?

The ent evap was about 70 deg.
evap out 60 deg.
cond in 95 out 105
evap sat was around 35deg until the towr dropped to 85 in then the sat temp rose up in the 50s. HMMMM? Cant remember the exv pos but it was contoling the disch superheat fine.
I was kina in the back ground watching the Carrier tech playing dumb so I was not all thet ontop of it but he made the statement and it seemed to be true from what I saw but diddnt seem logical.

It is very possible that it went into a high sct mode and unloaded.
It was at 100 % and desighn is 70 in 60 out.

Sounds like high discharge pressure/SCT override in effect.
Compresser will not load up or will unload.
EXV will be restricted from opening and may close the EXV too, this happens on both air cooled and water cooled units.
How`s it going Gibbo? How are things on the other side of the pond? Haven`t seen you around in a while.
