The value of a desuperheater for a tankless water heater
I just had a new geothermal system installed and a tankless water heater a few months earlier. I opted out of the desuperheater feature and now I'm wondering if that was a good idea.
Is it cost effective to buy a desuperheater and attach it to my tankless water heater? I was assuming I'd run the water line to the furnace, then to a 40 gal storage tank and then to the tankless water heater? If it's a good idea, Can a home owner buy one directly?

Sorry, no pricing questions. I removed yours.
