Trane RTAC 200 - Noise expectations
I am looking for a typical dB rating for this chiller. I have been unable to find anything being published from Trane.
Thank you,

I dont know about the Db ratings but I wouldnt install one in a noise sensitive area without the sound blanket option . They are a PITA for service but make a huge noise difference . Also follow the installation guidlines . "NO BRAIDED PIPING ISOLATERS" and dont hang the piping on the chiller frame .
You bend em" I"ll mend em" !!!!!!!
I"m not a service tech.. I"m a thermodynamic transfer analyst & strategic system sustainability specialist
Whooo Hooo spring at last , time to get the toys out ........vrrrroooooom !!!!

That can be found in the submittal data provided by the Trane New System Salesman.

Don't know the db rating but keep in mind that a remote evp is much more noisy than a package unit. Haven't found the solution for that yet, it seems to be a harmonic problem.

I actually have a submittal at my office for that exact machine with the ratings. They're no louder than any other 200 ton air cooled screw screamer. I can scan it in and post it tomorrow morning. Its rejected BTW lol. Not because of the sound, because it doesn't operate as well as a Carrier 30XA with variable primary and required an additional 200 amps of breaker capacity.
If you need an air cooled machine, and it is a sound sensitive scenario, definitly use the blankets and low sound fans, but look into a barrier, as provided by AcoustiBlok or Kinetics.

RTAC Sound Pressure
Boston,
See attached for equipment sound power. You'll have to convert it to sound pressure based on the distance from the machine.
