    Trane Controls

    Heya all,
How do you assign / unassign a MP580 on the BCU?
Do I need to do this through Rover or can it be done through the summit software? How

It is done through Tracer Summit.
    Setup.....Site Configuration.....Devices.....Assign Neuron ID button.

At which point did it throw the error code. When you clicked assign neuron id? or sometime after?

    error code

went to error code after it tried to discover.
Now I have 6 devices that do not have neuron id s
so everything is popping up question marks.
Question, if your comm wire is not hooked up will it still give you a neuron id?

No, Tracer will not discover Neuron IDs with the cable disconnected. It will only display Neuron IDs in the database.

Do you have more or less UCM's created than neurons on the link?

Are any devices offline that are in the database when you did your discovery?

Have any new devices been added to the link?

If old devices are in the database but are offline have they been permanently removed?

You may have to rebuild the link to cure this problem. Before you take such invasive action you should determine if there are any custom bindings between devices on the link, be sure that all the controllers on the link are online, and that the number of UCMs matches the number of neurons on the link.
The bindings will be wiped out in the process and will need to be recreated with Rover.
Offline controllers will be removed from the data base.
Tracer will complain if the number of UCMs doesn't match the number of neurons.
If new devices have been added you will need to created a UCM for them and assign the discovered neuron ID to it.

    LonTalk Status ??????????????

Went to assign a neuron id, and the LonTalk Status "Phase 1 Discovery in Progress" Froze.
Anyone no what is going on?
Hooked up Rover and it is picking up all of the devices there are "9" on the link.
The EOL resistor looks good, measures 105k ohms.
WTF cant get my head around it?

The first thing to try is do a Clear Ram and Reset. This will reset the peak (LONtalk) database in the BCU. Then try the discovery again. Most of the time this take care of it.

End of the line resistor is not good. There should be two so the link resistance should be in the 50 to 60 range. I'll assue the Kilo ohms in your reading is a mistake.
