i know there is a method you use to check the absorbtion rate of a condenser barrel , but am rusty on the method. would anyone please explain the aproach method .

Are you looking for the total btus absorbed by the condenser?
Saturated condenser refgt temp minus leaving condenser water temp is most common. Can use leaving refgt - leaving water on condensers without subcoolers. Do a "search" on this subject at this site. Been many lengthy discussions in the past.
