    Confused mini split ratings

I'm am choosing minisplits for my home near Cuernavaca, Mexico. I have four brands available: LG, York, Trane, and Mitsubishi. I can't find comparative ratings for these brands? Do such ratings exist?

Each manufacturer will typically have ratings on their spec sheets. Also, you can look up ratings on AHRI's directory of certified products, which is here: http://www.ahridirectory.org/ahridir...ages/home.aspx

It is helpful if you have the model numbers of the units you want to compare. For standard single speed mini-splits, look under the air conditioner or heat pump category. For varible speed mini-splits, there is a separate category to check.

Find an HVAC contractor with minisplit experience in your area - ask him which one he recommends. The best system is one that has qualified people to install and fix any problems that crop up, and with good support from the manufacturer in your area.

Mitsubishi is my pick, I use them often.
If it doesn't go easy, you are not using a big enough hammer.

Mitsubishi is a good pick as well as fujitsu. Both are very quiet and efficient

Mitsubishi Electric is the pick of that bunch.

There is also a brand known as Mitsubishi heavy industries, which is no where near as good.
