    One night, when we were sitting by the water, a bat flew in and landed on our birch tree. The lighter pic was taken the next morning, he stayed the night!

    Called a "Big Brown Bat" but actually about a 2 inch body
    and a 12 inch wingspan.
    "Little Brown" has a 1 1/2 inch body both indigenous to Canada.

    This guy hibernates somewhere nearby.
    Not usually associated with rabies but beware.
    Lives to 9 years.
