should i insulate the suciton line on a package unit?
the suction line on my straight a/c package unit by carrier is sweating like hell and rusting the base plate on my unit...should i instualte the 2 feet of pipe and tape it up good or just wait until winter sand and paint it good?? or if i insulate it the compressor will have to work harder????

This is border line DIY but ...........
I would think it should have been insulated from the factory. I would insulate it if it were me but I supposedly know what I am doing !

If sense were so common everyone would have it !

sometimes this is done tomake sure there is no liquid entering the compressor. 2 feet of pipe? go for it
