Yup, national health care will be a major disaster. And, the fact that anyone in congress would vote for a bill that they have not read indicates that we have really turned a corner in this country. This is very, very bad!!

I really doubt that any bill , passed by any congress has ever been read in its entire form. And anyone that would sit down and try to read such a document is seriously void of what's refered to as a life.

That being said, lay out your plan for high health care costs and lets compare apples to apples for once.

It is their JOB, to at least read the frikkin bill so they might understand what they are voting for...! That IS their LIFE. If it is too much to even read, then it is too much to enforce and should be scrapped. They ran for office, if it's too much of a job for them, then step out and let someone who gives a dam about the country have a crack at it.

I am curious. I have been in a number of debates on health care but one thing that I do not know yet is a ballpark figure of what the premiums for a family of four would be. An average type of plan that you or your employer would pay. I have read some crazy figures.

Mine is a Union healthcare plan.

It isn't cheap, but with the illnesses that we have had in my family, I would pay more for it.

    It is about 20k annually.

I don't know where that falls on the curve, but there it is.

I received an interesting link in an email the other day. It is a 9-1/2 minute clip from an interview with someone who has actually read the entire thing. She points out some of the outright lies that Obama is telling about his "health care" plan as well as some of the most insane and outrageous ideas for keeping costs down that the human mind could come up with. Some of it sounds like something you would expect hear from Adolph Hitler.

Using marijuana instead of other drugs because it is not as addictive is like shooting yourself in the foot with a 9mm instead of a .45 because the bullets are smaller.

All this talk about high healthcare costs is driving me crazy!!! The costs are high because we use the care far more than we ever did in the past. When I was a child I can remember (excluding an appendectomy at age 15) five... that's right FIVE total trips to see a doctor. Today we see a doctor 4 or 5 times a year. The ONLY reason this is happening is because we have separated ourselves from the cost of these visits with $20 copays. We are no longer consumers of healthcare services. We could care less what it costs!!! OUR FAULT! Do we truly believe that this will change if we let the feds "pay" for it???
The ONLY thing that will change is the level of care we receive, the speed at which the care is given, and the vast multitude if treatments available to us... Which, come to think of it, is the other major factor in the "high cost" of health care.

    I'm done.

draft all doctors, nurses and medical personnel into the Armed Forces, Milatarize the population and the problem will be solved. Instead of a 760billion dollar defense budget , we'll just double it to 1.5 trillion.

I didn't vote for an intern. If they don't read a bill, they don't know what they are voting for. Staff sets up their golf game, it shouldn't do their job. Problem #1. Their job is to uphold the constitution, not pass worthless legislation for the sake of it.....

I just heard that the average cost of health care insurance in the U.S. went from $6,000 in 2001 to $13,000 this year. This blows me away. I make a reasonable income that I can raise a family on. My personal taxes are in the $10,000 range. To be fair I might as well add that the company I work for pays for added insurance to top up my coverage. It is about $250 a year.
