    Honeywell Care Engineering software

Does any one know where I can get an instruction manual for the

"Honeywell Care" software for the the Excel controlers?

Their website was not too helpful.

    Thank you

Care is a great programming tool and it is pretty easy to pick up on. It is when you have to use it in conjunction with LNS and SymmetrE (EBI) that things become a little more difficult.

You just have to know where to look on the Honeywell site. Here are some links to get you going.

    Thank you, very helpfull links.
What I am trying to do is get a very qiuick brief overview of
!1 How to connect to the controller
2 How to open the software
3 Do i work in a graphic window ,likw the GX-9100 tool, or strictly with the Icon boxes

    ultimately I would like to
    -connect and open the software
_make on a very simple application such as
-a temperature sensor connected to a PID control which is controlling
    a Valve
    Thnak you

1- you connect to the controller i.e Excel 500 thourgh RS-232 serial and there is an icon connect (you should have configure your connection com 4 or 3 ...).
2- care is easy software , so you should configure the plant and the controller and later programmin.
3-I don't know GX-9100 , but you do in Icon boxes , but when you do logic programming you need to make yourself.
if you have the software I can send you some samples so you see it.

    Everyone is very helpfull
Yes please send me any samples you have.

I have also been using the Lonspec disk
I gather that Lonspec is a smaller version of Care

I do not mean any disrespect to anyone, but I am
use to the Tridium AX software.

The CARE software seems less complicated to use.

I do not know if it has the same tools the AX software has.

Anyway, I like it very much

    Thank you

Lonspec is nothing like Care, and personaly I would stay away from it and the XL15's.

Just curious, if you are using AX why do you want to use Care? Are you going to be supporting some SymmetrE systems?

.pjt above requires CARE 7.03.00 or higher (the latest I played with was 7.01.03)
