    with his last sign off Walter Cronkite(1916-2009) passed away tonight..... reporting from the beaches of Normandy during the invasion to the JFK assassination to the Moon landing.his biggest moment was in his closing remarks in 68' he commented on the TET aftermath and said the country can expect a stale mait at best and a longer drawn out war ...and with that Johnson turned to his White House people and said "if i have lost Cronkite i have lost the counrty"
