    Post these stats look about correct?

    check out this page from the Labor Statistics Board, does this look about correct for the wages and the states and metro areas that are the busiest and have highest wages?? interesting stuff.

    Its hard to figure out what exactly they did there, they kind of piled techs up with installers and residential with commercial so its going to be flawed. Even if you can figure out what the average is I don't think it helps as it's really two different fields when comparing residential to commercial / industrial. The residential installers and techs are going to drag the average wage number down, as they generally just don't make very much because of the lower skill level.

    is that true though about the wages? I mean i am not sure if residential has less education, that seems like a huge generalization, but as far as pay do commercial techs usually/always get more??

    lead commercial tech in my area can easliy do hi 30s to low 40s on just 40 hours,and pick his OT.new construction start-ups during the week with OT afterhour breakdowns on the way home

    Hmmm, I'm halfway between the 75th and 90th percentile for the DFW area of Texas.

    I guess that isn't to bad for a mostly residential 3 person company.
    If more government is the answer, then it's a really stupid question.

    how long have you been in the trade?? thats not bad for residential.
