"Been runnin like that for years."

So says the customer. The unit is four years old and numerous companies have been out to try and fix the problem. I get there and after a few minuets at the condenser I ask where the heater is. The customer says " It's in the attic. No one else ever looked at that."

Couple hours and a new 3 ton expansion valve later and "It never cooled that good before." I opened up the coil and the piston was never installed...So I guess "Bubba Joe" and "Billy Jack" decided to make there own metering device!
P.S. Twilly I hope I didn't offend you useing your kinfolks names..."Bubba Joe" and "Billy Jack"

After finding out our second born was also a boy, my wife asked "why are you sooooooo happy" to which I replied; "2 of those things are easier to keep up with than 20,000!"

Geez. I just don't understand how people can make it in this trade pulling crap like that. And then you were the first guy to look at the air handler! I was at call 7 years ago. HO had 3 companies out that told her she needed a new unit. Took me five minutes to put my guages on and determine I need to pull the evaporator. When I did it was matted in cat hair.

What's sad is that I saw that very same thing up here at a church. It was a old lennox system. I was just checking out the site and noticed it. It was cooling ok though. I installed a TXV anyway. It was done by Honeywell. That is no lie.(())
