mystery item on RTU. Have y'all seen this?

Can someone help identify the role of the dome on top of the RTU?
It does have a 12-15 foot piece of 3/8" vinyl hose terminating about 5 feet away from the unit on the roof...

Hope the pictures help. There is another unit on the (same)mall roof far away from this one. Just curious...
It's great to be alive and pumping oxygen!

It's an airwind indicator for indexing the sequencer so that duplication of the inlet/outlet heat generators do not conflict with the normal cooling sequence. We have a lot of them up her.

Or they could be guidance systems for UFO's. We have a lot of their people up here too.

no.no .no thats carriers resolution to constantly failing enthalpy sensors....they figured it would be more economical to just pick up the device and yell into it...telling the unit if free cooling is avail...the tube acts like the string attached to a soup can method, thats why it runs down into econo board! you guys were way off!

It is an engineer designed hail guard for that unit. If it can work on a piece of paper, then it will work on the unit. A classic example of how what is drawn on paper does not always work as well in the field.

That's the econimizer control sensor. Its operation is based on weather it's cloudy or sunny. if its cloudy then you get econimizer full on and if its sunny the econimizer is off and if its partly cloudy then you get part econimizer and part refrigeration . Its made me a ton of money!!!!!!!!!
