    Fluke clamp meters recalled

Came across this article while having lunch. Should be of concern to anyone who purchased one recently.

About 52,000 Fluke digital clamp meters, made in China by Fluke Corp., of Everett, Wash., are being recalled because the meters could give an inappropriate voltage reading. This can result in the operator falsely believing the electrical power is off, posing a shock, electrocution or thermal burn hazard.

The company has received three reports of clamp meters displaying an incorrect voltage reading. No injuries have been reported. The recalled products were sold at industrial distributors, electrical wholesalers and some hardware stores nationwide from January 2008 through February
this year. Details: by phone at (888) 983-5853 -Web at
    www.fluke.com/33Xrecall orwww.cpsc.gov.
