Bad news, if you catch crabs

But the recent fiasco, has indeed hurt fishing interests:

"Our forces are watching these movements (by Chinese fishing boats) with the view that they could be signs that indicate the possibility of North Korea's aggression," Defence Ministry spokesman Won tae-jae said.

The 1999 and 2002 clashes were in June, the peak of the three-month crab season when fishing fleets jockey for the best spots near the contested maritime border.

"Now that there's talk of ... an all-out war, we fishermen are worried," said 48-year-old Yeonpyeong island fisherman Kim Jae-sik.

I think NK must have another agenda very important, to become a priority over basic food needs. And catching crabs in that part of the world is much more prevalent than here in the USA. I guess that must be because they have more ocean/coast-line proportionately than we have here.

Well, I don't think this is just about crabs. Try to look at it from their perspective. They are going out with an 'expectation' of catching the crabs. Okay. But they are likely to catch some other stuff too.

As a Marylander for most of my life, I am a crab lover. I do even use Asian lump crab meat for making most of my crab concoctions, so I don't want the price of crab meat to go up.

If for no other reason, we should destroy North Korea

Well, I am probably just thinking in my own selfish terms I suppose. I will retract that statement. You know, I am sitting here in north Texas and I don't have crabs. So basically, I am admitting that I do not know what it is like to have crabs. At least on a regular basis like you folks in Maryland. I actually did have crabs once about 20 years ago and I did not like them.

I sincerely apologize to anyone with the crabs whom I might have offended. Of course, it should be noted, that I did begin this thread out of concern for people with crabs. I think my heart is in the right place here, I just admit I have a limited perspective.

Thanks Robo. I admit I really never understood crabs very well. I never really ever went after them myself, I just had a girl-friend give them to me once. So I was like , "okay, whatever". But I was never really out to catch the crabs, see, it was just a coincidental opportunity for me.

The Eastern Shore of Maryland is also well known for it's sweet corn. The sweetest I have tasted is called argent.
