So my friend, is it your position that the truck which is the subject of this thread was stolen due to some aspect of "carelessness?"

Now, if I'd said the heck with that customer, and gotten into the truck and driven away, I might not be spending most of this weekend looking up prices for all the stuff that was on that truck.

Then again, I could have been found dead in an empty parking space, too.

I don't see where timebuilder did this, but most of us do. No, we do not create thieves, but we can be more responsible as to not tempt those who are weak or dishonest into commiting crimes.

For this reason, I do not desire to have anything that is popularly wanted by others.

I wholely disagree. I can be responsible and attempt to prevent being stolen from. A locked door is to prevent an oppertunist. A locked door is not to keep an honest person honest. Because an honest person is not an oppertunist and will not take what is not his.

After reading the first post i didnt say anything, after the other to i gotta add.
You must steal alot of shift. It is moronic to even allude that just because something can be stole its the owners fault.
In that case home break ins are totally fine since all the normally is are a few pesky locks.And everybody keep all their best shift in their house.

Then again what can i expect from a society that banned firearms and has had a crime explosion over the last few years.

Stealing is wrong period and the only person to blame is the thief.

Careless does not equal a gift.
My wife was suprised that i left money laying around my house even when my Sons friends come over and are in the house when we arent at times.
First of all every one of them knows exactly what would happen if anything was missing, second they are good people.
Everyone is tempted to do things that are wrong, the ones who resist and have a conciense do not do those things and become better people because of it.

Anyone else deserves exactly what they deserve.
Then again if people would raise their kids most of this wouldnt happen.

I have returned thousands of dollars found in gas station rest room from people on their way to florida, they were overjoyed. Just because they were careless does not make that money mine.

Call it Karma, or reaping what you sow, i prefer what all the farmers told me growing up.

Oh, in a perfect world, thieves would be thieves and and envy and pride would not prevail. But alas, we do not live in a perfect world. Envy does exist and envy creates want. Want becomes desire and desire becomes justification.

Not that any of this has anything to do with the circumstances surrounding timebuilders incident, but had timebuilder made it easy to steal his van, he would have been unknowingly and unwantingly been feeding into the justification of the thief who desired what timebuilder had. Easy pickings. Low hanging fruit. There for the taking.

The truck was found empty when it was involved in an accident some 8 weeks after it was taken. It was cleaned out. The ladder racks were broken to remove the laddders.

Word is the repairs are complete, but there is still a set of issue concerning the insurance coverage. I may have to consult an attorney.
