    Confused XL500 idiot

Just got told I have to support an XL500 system (?) for an existing customer that took over a building.

The only thing I know (maybe) about XL500 is that it's Honeywell ?
I have no clue where to start looking for information about the XL500.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks In Advance !

Excel 5000 is an easy product to work on. Individual function cards, expandable, runs Care.

And CARE is a wonderful program to use.

So I guess I am confused here.

Great I/O density, and yes, solid controllers.
It's when you bring them into SymmetrE or EBI, specially on a multi building setup with various ilons, and the whole LNS database synchronization that you get into the nasty...

The first thing you want to do, is try and get your hands on the .pjt file for the building. There should be one for each Xl500, xl100, xl50, etc.

The other guys are correct in their opinon of Honeywell XL5000. Easy to work with. Software just like pneumatics in the programming with the added feature of pure logic. You will NEED the LAST program backup disk or "PJT" file AND the one that made everything work correctly before someone made an error with the programming to make your life easier. The "CARE" pjt file is forward only compatable or same version only. When you attempt to "Restore" the project you will see the version that it was written with.

I still have the Care and Building Supervisor manuals up to version 4 that I am willing to part with if you need them

    XL500

You're assuming that this is a LonWorks controllers. It can be C-Buss. You still need Care but don't rush to the conclusion the its Lon. What is the exact XL500 model numbers and we can determine that. I really like HW XL500's but I worked on them since inception of the product line. C-Buss into EBI is a piece of cake except it can be labor intensive. Let us know how we can help you. Thanks
