Just had a contractor out...
to give a quote. I want this quote three ways, or four ways depending how you look at it. The third way is to move the new compressor away from it's present location (68 total horizontal straight line feet between compressor and coil). I gave the guy the accurate horizontal and vertical measurements. He told me to give him a few minutes and he'd go out to his truck and figure it out. I told him that I'd actually like a little thought put into it.
Was I too rude?
Bear in mind he seemed knowledgeable and was in his early thirties.
Relocation of the outdoor unit. Is usually not too big of a deal.
So with measure ments, he shouldn't need to long to figure out if it will have adverse affect. Or the cost.
Thank you. I'll remember that next time. It was just that he was the first contractor to state the ability to figure it that quickly.

He left. He will e-mail me a proposal in the morning.
And you want to know what, ignorant or not, that makes me happy because not only will the quote be more legible but he might take a little more effort assembling it.
Y'know, something that looks like this:
Option 1 - 3 ton SS compressor with SS furnace.
Acme Comp. DF1560, Acme Furnace UD1527.5V3K, Acme Coil HR16F
Option 2 - 3 ton 2 stage compressor with VS furnace
Option 3 - relocating compressor
