compeating with wholesalers

do not know if any of you guys bid big projects but the company i work for retrofits schools with ac and heat we are a large piping and hvac company in our area. we bid on two schools and got beat out on one by trane. that does not seem to fare to me after all they make the equipment. my question is do you guys have same problem in your area wholesalers selling to public or worse bidding against you.

They also underbid us by a couple grand on a 4 compressor replacement on their brand of equipment. After that, they didn't even do the work themselves and sub the job out. (2-15hp & 2-10hp 3d scrolls) I was told they only allowed to use the price that they normally sell them for to make a bed but come on!
