Me and my 6 yr old went out with the .22's yesterday, him w/ his single shot rifle, and me w/ my single-six. We chucked a wiffle ball out a ways and rolled it across the field. I'll be danged if he didn't outshoot me,(not by much though
) and him shooting offhand for the first time to boot.
I musta been hitting the holes in the wiffle ball.....yeah, thats it.

I picked up (2) Keltec P11's today. Great guns made in my home state. Florida that is LOL Im gonna spend all day Thursady shooting em to break em in. Im taking a class on Saturday. The wife is taking it too.
The place I bought em from was robbed last night. Bad guys stole around 20 hand guns, mostly Hi Point 9mm's that were just put in the case yesterday. They lock up the more expensive guns in the safe at night. Dont bag on the hi points, I own a few 9's and when I pull the trigger, they go bang.
They dont lock up the rifles though but the bad guys left several killer shotguns on the wall and instead stole the sole AK47 that was there. bummer.....

I took my son (boy-child) out a while back and he made it pretty simple to me...put it in front of him and He'll put a hole in it. His only problem is, he's so small, a regular .22 seems big for him. I have to hold the stock for him and when I do and he controls the sights, he drills the bullseye. If he was a bit bigger He would be sick-good. http://s256.photobucket.com/albums/h...ent=Johnny.jpg

It's a kick in the pants, aint it John. I picked up a cheap used single shot for him to learn on. It's a kids gun even, I had to put the gun but on my chin to get the sights in front of my eye to test it out, and that was before I sawed off 2" of the stock for him. He couldn't hold the rifle on target when he first tried shooting off hand, had to let it down right away. I told him to controll the movement, come in low, raise the sights to the target, and fire, and lo and behold, the kid actually listened to me. I don't know what suprised me more, that he started hitting the target, or that he did what I told him to.

A cut and paste from Sturm
I would strongly suggest you contact your state representatives and
senators to protest this bill. It is an attempt to abridge the Second
Amendment by taking away ammo. It has been well proven that there is no
technology existing that allows manufacturers to "encode" information like
they are trying to push. It is the first step to disarming the American
public. Note that these bills also require a national registry of
ammunition purchases: name, address, caliber, kind, quantity, etc. Also,
any ammunition that a person owns that is not "encoded" must be destroyed
two years after this goes into effect (next summer).
My recommendation would be for you to forward this to anyone who either
hunts or owns a firearm.
People without the ability to defend themselves are not citizens - they are
subjects.

Remember how Obama said that he wasn't going to take your guns?
Well, it seems that his minions and allies in the anti-gun world have no
problem with taking your ammo!
The bill that is being pushed in 18 states (including Illinois and Indiana)
requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacture and establishes a
data base of all ammunition sales so they will know how much you buy and
what calibers. Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless
the ammunition is coded.
Any privately held uncoded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011
Including hand loaded ammo.) They will also charge a .05 cent tax on every
round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more!
If they can deprive you of ammo they do not need to take your gun!
This legislation is currently pending in 18 states: Alabama, Arizona,
California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland,
Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island,
South Carolina, Tennessee, and Washington.

and the specific legislation for each state, go to:

This is why as gun toting citizens who are NOT criminals were going o have to be vigilant and watch our states representation closely.
This kind of legislation DID NOT and WILL NOT pass in several of the states it was brought up in. In fact SC just scrapped the thing right off if Im not mistaken. It never made it to the floor. BTW Tomorrow is tax free guns and ammo in SC which is a new tax exempt holiday in SC and hapens the first weekend after Thanksgiving each year. Passed by the house and senate, the governor veto'd it but our reps passed it anyway.
Watch closely as States like Texas and SC lead the charge against these stupid people that want to take away our rights.
Keep sending the message folks, buy more guns and ammo NOW.Owner

Thanks Richard, I got lucky and scored an old single shot .177 pellet gun. It's a Highscore with a leather gasket for the barrel. It has a very small stock that fits my youngster very well. He just wanted to shoot the semi-auto .22 real bad. Hopefully as he grows up he will still have the desire to keep drilling those targets. Even though He's small, when I hold the stock for him he is very good. He makes me proud.
