Thank you o wise one! I was waiting for my leader to tell me I could finally leave! I have no issue with our right to posess and bear arms! It's the false sense of security and empowerment I'm hoping does not mislead you! HAVING A GUN DOES NOT MAKE YOU a better American, tougher, safer, and obviously by this thread in any way shape or form, SMARTER! Reliance on weaponry to accompany you on a day to day basis makes you ,in fact, LESS DEMOCRATIC and more FACIST! Do you know what that means?

EXCELLENT!!! I thought I was the only one that thought that way. In fact I was planning the old pumpkin demo this year with my 3, 5, & 6 yr olds. Drill gun safety into their litttle heads right off the bat with toy guns till they learn it. Gun safety in the home has never been an issue till this TV generation of violence, and the uneducated "experts" preaching locking them up.

My son started with play guns at 2, at 5 moved to a red ryder daisey, learned about gun safety with it, then at 8 Santa brought him his Rossi 410/22 combo. Fun little rifle single shot and lots of safeties. You should have seen the look on Santa's face when my son asked him for it. Santa looked at us and we just laughed and said it would be ok. The boy is a pretty good shot too. I totally agree with the tv generation and the glorification of violence. They have made it so prestigious to carry that these young kids think they are bullet proof because they have a pistol. Kids are hard headed enough.

I got two single shot .22's in the safe waiting for owners. The kids are learning with bow's, and getting pretty good with them, but we had a set back on the plan. Last spring my 5 yr old shot his little sister with his sling shot. I had hoped he'd be ready for an air rifle by now, but that aint happening. To his credit, he didn't shoot his sister with a rock, or anything hard like that, and he was genuinely suprised that it hurt her, so I'm thankfull for the opportunity to teach him what a "no tolerance policy" is, he got every weapon revoked, including his toy Cabelas crossbow, and cap guns--but he's been earning them back. I think my 7yr old girl just might find the air rifle I have for one of them, under the tree with her name on it this year. I'm finding it tough, in my eagerness, to wait for them to earn the rite to have their own gun, I don't know who is more eager--me to give them one, or them to get one--but they have to earn it.

That's the best way to do it. No tolerence. These type of things have to be dealt with in a firm but understanding manner in order to teach them the proper respect with any type of weapon. You are going about this in the right way. My girl is starting to gain some interest in that shooting can be as much of art and skill as anything else she does. I showed this whole thread (they didn't read it all but got the basic thought of all the different views of the people who have posted) to show them the passion of this issue. Keep raising your kids in God's eye and teaching them the proper respect all will be good. Even the respect of the people who have different views.

Sure you don’t. You just posted numerous accidents that happened so we could become more enlightened.
Only an idiot would keep a gun locked in his house thinking a burglar will wait while he unlocks the gun so he can defend himself. It's the false sense of security and empowerment I'm hoping does not mislead you! HAVING A GUN DOES NOT MAKE YOU a better American, tougher, safer, and obviously by this thread in any way shape or form, SMARTER!Oh, so if I practice my rights guaranteed to me by the Constitution, I am less democratic. Boy aren’t you just a book full of wisdom.Reliance on weaponry to accompany you on a day to day basis makes you ,in fact, LESS DEMOCRATIC and more FACIST! Do you know what that means?
And yes, I know what facist means.
Do you know what communism is?

A gun is just a tool. It doesn't make you any different a person then what you were before you picked it up. Guns don't care about politics, religion or types of government, nore does posession of a gun cause any type of sudden transformation.
You may be suprised to learn that carrying a deadly weapon actually hightens ones sense of responsibility, and I believe reduces the likelyhood of conflict. You pay a lot closer attention to your surroundings and those around you. You tend to be more polite. After all, you never know who else may be carrying.
A responsibly trained and armed society is a good thing.

No silly, the liberals/socialist/commies.
And they won't hurt when China does either.
Remember, privately owned American firearms were a large part of Englands home defence in WWII. Because their govn.t had allready disarmed the people, they were defensless when Hitler came knocking.TB
