The system had a line set over 80' long with a 5/16" liquid line and 3/4"/7/8" combination [4 ton system]. The system was drastically overcharged. Replaced air handler, redesigned and installed new return duct, installed new 10 kW strip heater and disconnect, installed additional returns in the basement and upstairs section, installed new thermostat, filter driers...etc. The system is operating within specs now and is running MUCH quieter.
