I always schedule my Lockhart work (not much) around lunch time. I really used to be a fan of Blacks when Mr Black was there (early 90's), last time there seemed like it wasnt as good as it once was. Maybe I need to give it another go next time Im in town.
My favorties in order:
City Market - Luling
Rudys - The one on 35 just north of San Antonio, dont know why but it is the best. The one on 360 in Austin is good too
Blacks (I'll give it another try)
Gates in KC is good, real saucy, Sonny Bryants,,,, OK, and Jack Stacks Ribs are good if your there in KC.
Actually had some good Q in New York City once
Had some of the worst in Maui, blaaah!
we are neighbors, we don't do a whole lot of work in lockhart, but it is always scheduled around lunch time. i do like kreuz's and city market too. blacks has the old lockhart feel to it and the brisket is tender enough to cut with a spoon. my family and i all go to denton in the fall for the nascar races and pass right by sonny bryants, have been meaning to go, but haven't made it yet. maybe next time. the pork ribs at fuschaks aren't too bad. i need some customers who shoot coils every five years or so, how do i arrange that.

My girlfriend's favorite is Lee Roy Selmons
and I like it as well

Brannigan's in Southington, CT has the best ribs I have ever had...Now that I live in Central Florida, I'm still looking.
Dave's BBQ in downtown Gilbert,AZ. Great brisket and they make there own root beer! Best lemon cake this side of the mississippi too.
Bubbalous in Altamonte Springs too. They aren't great but they are the best we have around here.

Yes sir...Black's or Kreuz, my two favorites. Saltlick is good but overrated.
