    furnace brand vs install

ive been reading alot about different people asking about different brands of furnaces, and it has really started to make me think

i always thought that most of the furnaces on the market are equally reliable, as long as you are comparing different brands equal furnaces, and the most important factor is how the furnace is actually installed, is that wrong?

are there other specs that change when you are moving up to a higher caliber furnace? besides big things like vs dc motor, 2 stage heating, corrosion free heat exchanger, insulated blower cabinet

i was also wondering what brands offer sealed burners, and if these are better (whether that be for noise or efficiency)

    thanks

    Research and Developement

I like the Big 3. Carrier, lennox and trane. The reason why is they have spent some money on research and are leaders in the Industry.(some may feel different) They do use independent agencies to test there equipment and have some of the highest standards. Heat exchanger design, sound ratings, efficiencies, multi position units, controls and yes sealed combustion chambers inwhich these all have. Some manufactures not listed above use the door as the seal and I don't agree with that. Parts are subjected to temps and moisture.
Do it right the first time.

does the sealed burner improve the efficiency at all or is it mainly for sound?

because i usually am putting in keeprites or goodmans, and both of them have 95 % eff. but i just thought that if they were that efficient, a sealed burner would be a must?

    Sound.

Goodmans are sealed combustion but the cabinet provides the seal.
General public's attitude towards our energy predicament: "I reject the reality of finite resource depletion and substitute it with my own; energy is infinite, we just need an alternative storage medium to run the cars on. The economy can grow indefinitely - we just need to "green" everything! Technology is energy! Peak what?"
