Sorry if this sounds preachy. It just hit a chord with me. Good luck with quitting smoking. The physical addiction only lasts 48 hours, so if you're past that it's all in the mind. Good luck.

Greg you speak from living the nightmare of Cancer having gotten even worst.

The Truth is not kind. Treatment no Joke if the cancer doesn't kill you the Treatment likely will.

Anything worth have is worth fighting for. And life and your family is worth fighting for.

Sunshine and 63F for a PM today. Better than last week, with two days working in rain, one with the addition of darkness and wind on Friday night. Phew!!!

Hello.
If you smoke it is not IF you get cancer but when you get cancer. And when you get cancer there is a good chance you will not survive the treatment. I hate to be a b****** about this, but I'm on the other side of not surviving treatment. In a word, it sucks for your wife and children. These are the stakes. How it turns out is up to you and God. At least now you have some of the say.
Try to be extra nice to the wife. Help her with the dishes or laundry when she doesn't expect it. Work your magic and enjoy it while you can.
I wish you the best. Take it seriously and don't forget what is is really about.

I certainly hope that your prognosis for me is wrong!! Even though the odds are not in my favor (been smoking on and off for 30 years), I prefer to keep a positive attitude. It has been 10 days now without a cigarette, and I intend to see this thing through. I understand your strong feelings on this and reality is what reality is.

Monkey....it's 2 weeks as the SOB time for cravings....
I used to smoke 3 packs of 25 a day.....been 22 years since I had a smoke....and on a jobsite it'll still hit me sometimes as a craving...but nothing unmanageable......Good on ya...keep it up...

I'm a former heavy smoker, and except for some little polyps in my darkest place, I'm cancer free so far. A great many former smokers never have so much as a cough. In fact, I have known men who smoked all their lives (and drank, too) but have no ill effects other than old age.

You can do this. Just keep a tight hand on how you react emotionally. That is perhaps the toughest part. Wrestling with your craving is an inner struggle, but how that manifests itself is an outer one.

Evening all Had a good day wnet to the Y and did Just under a 1/8 mile on the walking track. I spent about know but it's great feeling to fee llike I getting back on my feet.
