We'll never get it right. Right now, if you are not a citizen and cannot speak english, you get free health care. From what I understand, this new healthcare is no universal healthcare coverage, but rather feelgood legislation that won't really help, but makes it look like they tried.

Evening all. I have been struggling to quit smoking for several years. Its been 24 hours since my last cigarette. Wish me luck, it sure is a tough habit to break. Cancer sucks and I want to do all that I can to avoid it. It may be too late to avoid it, but better now than never.

This is not the right place to say it BUT......every immigrant/minority/down on their luck/sick/pregnant/whatever has a voice/group to speak for them but if a 'always worked for what you got' WASP feels that all he is being treated like is a cash register to support all these other minority groups at the trough of Socialism.....they call us a racist....
No matter the fact that we ruin our bodies and put in 'illegal hours' to give these people (that majority of which sit on their lazy a$$es all day)....we are never supposed to point out the 500# pink gorilla in the room....
God we have become a sad society.....99% concerned with optics and 1% concerned with the truth and content."The quality you deserve is not expensive---it's priceless"

Good for you.
I stopped smoking in 1992. No, it was not easy, but if I can do it, so can you.
Back then, the transdermal patch was a prescription, but I believe it helped me a lot. There were three levels of nicotine, and you would do a level for something like two weeks, then step down a level, etc.
I also used chewing gum and chocolate to help with the need to have something to do with my mouth.
Between the chocolate and the nicotine, I was able to keep from killing anyone. Ok, I'm joking, but will have to watch your emotions, otherwise you could say or do something that you would not normally do. Your fuse will be shorter for a while, so watch it![Avatar photo from a Florida training accident. Everyone walked away.]

I quit smoking about 21 years ago.....and being a drunk it was honestly harder to quit smoking than it was to quit drinking. It was about 4 days after I quit when I was trying to reverse the coil in a York G2HC coil by myself and already had screwed the A/H to it......well before I new what the heck happened I 'exploded' and the coil/A/H was 15' across the room and airborne....what a GD mess to straighten that out....
The temper will get you......and remember.....'this too shall pass' when you get the urge to pick up again.... Stay away from your morning coffee....drink it on the run and if you like to have a beer...stay away from it for a couple weeks.
Oh, by the way.....warn the ole lady 'cause you'll be hornier than 4 peckered west african stud buzzard....that's the good part.....that a cat couldn't scratch and dog couldn't chew.....like 16 again!!!!
