OUR DEAR FRIEND HAS CANCER FCS

Myself, I get sick once or twice a year. It lasts about 24 hours and I'm off and running again.

The wife isn't so lucky. When she get sick, it get serious, FAST.

3 years ago, around this time, I almost lost her to pneumonia. She spent 2 days in critical care on a breathing machine. We came to find out that she has a genetic condition called Alpha Trypsin deficiency. She now gets weekly therapy to keep those levels up and keep her healthy.

It has helped, but she still gets sick pretty easily.

Fortunately, it seems that our kids have inherited MY genes. They don't have the condition and, while they do get sick as normal for youngsters, they recovery pretty quickly.



Thanks for the prayers, Doug. With the pig bug running around, I'm more than a little afraid for her.

JP....yes the H1N1 is hitting hard here but it's a 2 day normal flu but of course the media blows the two or three cases right up....don't mention the 20 people dying of other causes like 'ordinary flu'. My head Tech's wife is 2 months pregnant so they're pretty worried too.....bike riding up the mountain, de-scented garlic and 'being too ornery to get near' is my philosophy on staying well....
