i ran a 4.55 second 40 in high school but did not have a dad to help me keep my stick on the ice! if you know what i mean?
so ended up in trouble and had to join the army!

i guess what i am saying is? maybe she wouldn't be doing so great with out a good dad?????????

Not yet but she's a helluva an equestrian rider.....She's 6' tall and can stick handle better than her ole man....
Her boyfriend has 3 more lessons till he solos for his license and he can run any piece of equipment on a jobsite. She's got 5 more months till she's got her RN license....and degree.

Fronk.....believe me it ain't the ole man......it's the undying devotion of the Mother......she's the glue that holds this family, DC, LI together....

Tell her boyfriend what my dad told me before I soloed. "After you take off, look over at the right seat where your instructor had been sitting. That seat will look really, REALLY empty!"

While dad was right, I immediately noticed how QUIET it was in the airplane. No constant chatter coming from that seat. I was able to concentrate on flying, which was a revelation in itself.

I can definitely relate to him. I have operated virtually everything with wheels or tracks. No tanks yet, I'm waiting for that opportunity...

Good to hear she is getting the degree and not just the RN designation. We have too many two year programs here, and nursing really demands a higher standard nowadays, as the nurses of the future will have to take on many new responsibilies, and while the demand for health services grows, and children of doctors seek other careers besides medical practice.

Lisa is probably the only reason I watch that show. Not to mention shes good looking. Man she would be awesome to date. Too bad I just attract all the crazies.

TB I used to be in air cadets when I was younger. It was great I almost got my glider license. Ground school was free to us so I took it. First year I was too young but I went just to learn the stuff. Second year was the year that mattered...and only the top three went on. I was 4th place.

Around that time I stopped showing up and eventually just brought my uniform in on a coat hanger. See, considering the instructors son magically pulled 1 more right question than I did, but didn't seem to know anything about anything... I just figured out they were a bunch of favouratist so and so's. All the kids in the higher ranks had parents volunteering at the squadron...it was all one big circle.

Did get some fun out of it. A couple flights in a high wing Schweitzer 2-32, and a jaunt in a Bellanca Scout. They would take us up to the army base for that. One day they even did rides in the CH-146 Griffon but because we had a gliding day canceled, our squadron went gliding while everyone else got to go for a ride in a Huey.

I personally wanted the Huey ride...I had been in the Schweitzer enough to know what its about at that point. I did get to go front seat once. That was awesome.
