i know a little i say little about air foils
so i agree, i think the original fans which you see here are on wrong!

did trane put the airfoil on the wrong side????????????

If the shaft in the pic is turning CW, then the flow will be AWAY from the armature, but I don't understand why the airfoil design faces the wrong direction compared to the airflow over a wing.

Unless they are doing that to help reduce cavitation....

I'd have to read something about that fan to really know, but yes, CW in the pic WILL pull from the armature toward the shaft end.

i'm confused............... if it spins ccw, and the fan is supposed to direct refrigerant into the motor, installation is correct.
they used vapor to cool the stator? usually they inject liqwid

anyhow that fan is now on the other side spinning CW and hopefully pulling cool liquid out of the evaporator

but airfoil seems wrong??????????

could be.................found a yt oil reservoir drain installed upside down,,,,,,,,,,,,,

From looking at the parts list on page two of the pdf, it looks like one fan goes on the far end for CW, and one goes on the near end for CCW.

Which way does your shaft turn? CCW as shown in your picture?

Does this thing use both fans, one a CCW fan from the end you showed, and another CW fan on the other end?

In that case it will pull stuff through the machine, from one end to the other.

it is almost done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it would take about 160 man hours to get to the fans

like you said choo choo put them on and balanced them

this is a double hung motor

where the fans are in the crankcase

would be directly behind the sleeve bearings

this would be in about 16" hg

this area would directly behind the impeller and I would think???? hey should pull out of the center of the stator>??
then it would find its way between the motor housing and stator and fet sucked into the evaporator

all i know is
in the drawing what they have cw is ccw and so on
