Hey.
Another question that has been knocking around in my head.
My oldest boy (9) is wanting a better bike. He's ridden a couple of department store bikes into the dirt, and wifey and I are talking about a 'better' bike for him.
Local bike shop carries Giant brand bikes. They look like fairly solid bikes for BMX/trick type riding like he wants to do.
I know that a couple of you guys have ridden a bike so I figured I could float this one out here.
thats funny!
when i was a kid
mongoose was the best bike, diamond back and redline!
now i think kmart owns em
free agent is kik arse
when i was a pro racer i had a gt sponsor for a while and ended up racing a ritchey
mountain bike wise ritchey, specialized, there are alot
giant included
if he is into bmx i would imagine gt is still really good!
you are lucky my 9 year old grandson will never get his fat arse off the computer
he does not even know what outside is

Hey JP,
Up here in Whistler you'll predominantly see Giant, Specialized, Trek and of course my favourite...Santa Cruz.....they are all made in Taiwan at Giant Bikes....very, very good quality. The SRAM Groupos are much more price conscious and they stand up well. Best fork hands down for 'North Shore' riding here in the mud, rain, grit, snow, rain, rain....did I mention rain....is Marzocchi. They are a touch heavier but stand up unbelievable. If you put a 'dirt jump' fork on, he'll have a helluva time breaking it. Don't get him a department store bike....with the broken necks and spines....you can't even take them on the mountain here...
