Hey FCS, Hey Timebuilder, Hey Richard Weed, Hey Seaman Cox, Hey Iron, Hey Chick, and all. Has been a tough couple of days. Had to rush my father-in law to hospital, couldn't breath. Long story short, had to be resuccitated and on ventilator. Past 48 hrs. he has come a long way. Is communicating, although he can't talk due to ventilator. Can once again see that fighting spirit in him and think he will pull through OK. Anyway the reason for this post is just to say that it was great to read all the funny stuff you guys have written since I last checked in. Timebuilder, that was a hilarious story. It was as if I was in the cockpit with you ( boy am I glad I was wasn"t) Seaman Cox - stop it. FCS you are a true inspiration. Hope the shaaaaaaking thing worked out for you Have a good night !

I worked 12 today!
pressure transducer, 3 way valve, pulled all new 1/4" pneumatic tubing, master actuator with pilot positioner, replaced tower sump heater, tower fill, warick fill valve and used the pipe freezing machine to repair a leak on the 10th floor.
I am done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am just an hourly employee now,
I used to own a small small shop.
I used to spend so much time on bids and it seemed like every one I thought I was wasting my time I GOT!
Once I did a bid on a bar napkin.
The guy lost the bid/napkin.
Some time later I put an ad in a small paper called the thrifty nickle.
He called me from the ad and I got a $260,000 job!
Just keep plugging at it.

My wife already told me that if the next one is a girl, I can just raise this one as a boy. One bid was trying to talk me down less than half the labor price, the other one I am still going to send a quote and add abot 10% for agrevation.

Those cooling towers are kinda like big swamp coolers that ocassionally have dead birds and other goddies in them.

boys are easier and cheaper!
As far as the bids, in this economical down turn,
just do whatever they want for how much they want, get the job and consider it payment for your time on the bid!
